Latini is the triangular sail, that was used on small boats from the ancient times and later in the 9th century A.D. The boat Latini was named after the sail latini. These sails were mounted in a diagonal antenna, on the mast of the ships. The origin of the sail is not known, but is commonly believed that it was used by small ships that sailed in the Mediterranean, the Black Sea and the Indian Ocean.
